Concurrent with the Rapture of the church, God's restraint upon sin and Satan is removed from the earth.

This fact is explained as follows...

The Holy Spirit of God indwells God's church.
Do you not know that you [believers in Jesus] are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Cor 3.16

For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people." 2 Cor 6.16b

Thus, when God's church is taken out of the world [Raptured], so also will the Holy Spirit of God be taken out of the world.
In the era after the Rapture, Holy Spirit's restraint upon sin on the earth will no longer be present.
Sin, and Satan, and Satan angel's will have a *Free Rein.* Alas for the earth!
And now you know Who is restraining, that he [Antichrist] may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 2 Thes 2.6-7

Antichrist
In the era following God's removal of His church, Satan will reveal a counterfeit messiah -- known in the Bible as *Antichrist.* The coming of the lawless one [Antichrist] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2 Thes 2.9-10

Empowered by the devil, Antichrist will rise to worldwide prominence and power in *that Day* [the final era of the present heavens & earth]. ...that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin [Antichrist] is revealed 2 Thes 2.3b

Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast [Antichrist] rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Rev 13.1

In that era, a reconstituted *Roman Empire* will emerge as a confederation of 10-nations.
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast [reconstituted Roman Empire], dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns [ten nations]. Dan 7.7 [Dan 2.40]

"The ten horns [ten nations] which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast [Antichrist]. Rev 17.12

In that era, Antichrist will be given rulership over the reconstituted *Roman Empire*
The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast [Antichrist]. Rev 17.12-13 [ref Dan 7.24]

*Mystery Babylon* - Antichrist's religious system

*Mystery Babylon* will become the humanistic, one-world, "ecumenical" religious system for the idolatrous worship of Antichrist as "god of this world." Then I saw another beast [false prophet of the Antichrist]... And he exercises all the authority of the first beast [the Antichrist] in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast [the Antichrist], whose deadly wound was healed. Rev 13.11a-12

On the woman's forehead ["woman" is a Bible symbol for false religions] a name was written: "Mystery Babylon the Great -- Mother of Harlots ["harlotry" is a Bible symbol for idolatry] and of the Abominations ["abomination" is a Bible symbol for idols & idolatry] of the Earth." Rev 17.5

*City Babylon* - Antichrist's political & economic capitol

*City Babylon* will become Antichrist's nerve center of dictatorship over all the earth.
*City Babylon* also will become the "Wall Street" of the world's economy. The kings of the earth... committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her [*Political Babylon*]... Rev 18.9a

[Goods traded within *Economic Babylon* shall include...] merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. Rev 18.12-13

In that era, the temple of God shall be rebuilt in Jerusalem.
Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there." Rev 11.1

Toward the end of that era...

Antichrist and *many* of Israel's leaders will sign a Peace Covenant.
The world will see this covenant as a wonderful treaty that will at last bring peace to Planet Earth.
God, however, calls the treaty by the name it truly deserves -- a covenant with death.
Why does God call it a covenant with death? Because Antichrist's secret goal for making this covenant is the DEATH of Israel's very existence on the earth -- as you shall see in paragraphs to follow.
Then he [Antichrist] shall confirm a covenant with many [leaders of Israel] for one week Dan 9.27a

[God tells Israel...] Your covenant with death [a symbol of Antichrist] will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol [the grave - a symbol of Antichrist] will not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it. Isa 28.18

Onset of the Tribulation

With Israel's signing of the Covenant of Death, the great day of God's wrath will come.
The Tribulation will begin.
He [Jesus] opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.

And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" Rev 6.12, 6.15-17

Preview of Study Three

You have arrived at the end of Study 2...

As noted earlier, Study 3 will cover events during and after the Tribulation.
Some folks ask, "Can people be saved during the Tribulation?" The Bible answers, "Yes!"
The following preview of Study 3 shows that, all during the Tribulation, God repeatedly and dramatically offers salvation to ALL people who will answer His call.

God's repeated offers of salvation

Repeatedly, at various times during the 7-year period of the Tribulation, God will send 3 offers of salvation to the people of earth

Offer #1 [sealed evangelists] - God seals 144,000 Jewish evangelists to preach salvation
I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed Rev 7.4

Offer #2 [Miracle-working prophets] - God anoints two prophets who will preach and work attesting miracles on Planet Earth for 1,260 days.
I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. ...These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

When they finish their testimony, the beast [Antichrist] that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. Rev 11.3, 11.6-7

Offer #3 [The angel flying in the midst of heaven] - God dispatches an angel to circle all the world, shouting God's message. That messenger from God will be seen and heard by each and every person on earth.
Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth -- to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people -- saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." Rev 14.6-7

Raptured believers will assemble at God's throne in heaven, to praise God's continuing offers of salvation to the people of earth.

Halleluyah! Our God is Salvation! I looked, and behold, a great multitude [the assembly of God's church in heaven] which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" Rev 7.9-10
